Fantastic holiday in Tignes
Reporter: Vanessa Miller
It’s been three years since I’ve skied due to hip issues. After the first run I felt fine and off we went. I took it easy for the first couple of days as we did have some mixed visibility conditions.
The rest of the week we had good weather and skiing, other than a lunch time storm on the Wednesday The snow levels were great for a late season holiday.
The hotel was ideally placed for the lift system and overall, a good package for Tignes. The food and standards did receive mixed reviews. On the plus side you could ski back to the accommodation and there were good après options nearby.
We were also able to witness all sorts of impressive ski tricks as the Mountain Shaker event was on while we were there and the arena was right outside the hotel. This was a week of festivities based around 3 major events: the FISE Xperience Series, ski Big Air World Cup and the ski Slopestyle World Cup.
The resort did seem busier as the week went on and we did have some injuries within the group. I hope that everyone recovers well.
Thanks to all the committee members for facilitating the holiday. Also, thanks to members and other members of the club for assisting the injured people.
I look forward to Cervinia next year.
