Seventeen of us (and canine companions) set off from the Ryles Arms in Sutton, south of Macclesfield.
The start point was changed due to roadworks in the area, which meant the climb was at the start of the walk rather than after lunch. Everyone managed to negotiate the road works to get there. (The start should have been Blaze Farm).
The walk was undulating. (Not nearly as strenuous as the SCoM May weekend).
Some sections were along a road which were tricky. We encompassed a number of stiles marking the trail, some were easier to find than others. Some were a lot easier to cross, being a bit wonky, or having quite long drops on the other side. Some parts of the trail weren't the easiest to follow.
Before lunch we had a steep climb to Blaze farm for lovely ice cream. At the entrance was a large crocodile in the pond.
Thank you for buying the lovely ice creams on your landmark Birthday Helen.
After a few photos, we continued along part of the Cheshire Ring Canal Walk, passing Marple locks.
We enjoyed the drink at the Ryles Arms.
