Ski Club of Manchester Trip to La Tania, March 2025

Reporter: Karen Bedford

After such an amazing 1st week for me in Les Arcs I decided to grab the vacant space and head to La-Tania. Another great week skiing and meeting more members.

3 Vallee’s is a brilliant ski area, Courchevel 1850 holding fond memories for me (non-Russian!) A Big thanks to Phil for guiding and Alf for wearing red, especially when I got lost!

First day was fog, so not much fun, but we all headed out. Then out came the sun and blue skies.

Last day was grainy snow, slush at the bottom, but we had had the best of the week.

Apres ski in the Irish bar and hotel bar, entertainment by Len Goodman ‘look alike’ and of course cards.

The Hotel was well placed, ski in/ski out is always a plus and a much better shower this time.

My new boyfriend, an Irish ‘bff’ whispered’ is hat Papa Elf’? Dave, you took it well!

And Fiona, who enthusiastically chatted to Brian hoping he would be joining her the next day, only to realise it wasn’t Greg! Fiona you were keeping your ‘off piste‘ skills quiet! Greg you were giving your skis lots of love that day? only to put them on free cycle when you got back!

I have to mention Tim, you went from Blues in Les Arcs to Blacks & Moguls this week! Hope you find where your wife’s put everything, only a patient wife would let her man go skiing and leave her with a house move!!!

A big thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome in this club.

And finally, after no injuries in a party of 40, we nearly landed on top of another aircraft, according to my pilot friend, who was tracking and saw this rare occasion!

All ends well and I am looking forward to future ski trips.

Hope we have a warm summer in preparation for next season.
