As some of you know, Marjie Di Rollo died on December 29th 2014, about two and a half years after a diagnosis of liver and bowel cancer. Marjie and her husband, Ernie, were members of the Ski Club of Manchester for over 30 years, and came on many club holidays, as well as attending ski keep fit and other activities over the years. After Marjie and Ernie bought a motor home some years ago, they spent many weeks each winter skiing, occasionally meeting up and skiing with friends who were on Club holidays. They enjoyed the freedom to move between ski areas and - unlike many, who have just a six days standard ski holiday - no longer felt the pressure to 'ski every day' whatever the conditions. Fortunately, throughout her illness and treatment at the Christie, Marjie felt well enough that she and Ernie could continue to enjoy time away using their motorhome as a base for exploring different areas of England. Marjie was a sociable and caring lady, with deep concern and kindness in supporting the well-being of others. She will be missed by many friends in the ski club. As we remember Marjie, our thoughts are with her family, including Ernie, their three daughters, and two granddaughters.
