14 members met on the Town Hall steps in Manchester and, in anticipation of Christmas spirit, our first stop was the Gluhwein stall. This was more a necessity than any other reason as the weather was bitterly cold, wet and windy, and this certainly put many of us off spending too much time wandering around the stalls.
We split into small groups after the warming drink then variously engaged in the business of buying, drinking or sampling the continental goodies. We all eventually re-grouped in the large food tent and this provided a very welcome sit down lunch and warm up.
It was a shame that the inclement weather cut short the afternoon, but meeting up with friends and enjoying the festive atmosphere together was very pleasant.
Thanks to Bryce for suggesting and arranging the event.
