La Plagne

Most members will be familiar with La Plagne, so this review is to pass on our experience of Ski Olympic - the tour operator the Club are using for the main holiday to Meribel in January 2001.

It was by chance that we happened to see this last minute holiday with Ski Olympic last Easter. At the time of booking we were very impressed by the help given and subsequently throughout the holiday.

The Chalet Hotel Graciosa at Plagne Centre is a lovely little hotel right on the piste. The staff provided faultless service and we met Bernie and his wife Maggie, the owners of Ski Olympic, who stayed for the week whilst checking out their other chalets in the area. They seemed a genuine couple, eager to mix, and 'muck in' to do any job. Certainly all the staff did their best to ensure each guest had a great holiday, as opposed to an 'OK' holiday. The food was particularly good, beautifully presented, and the kitchen spotless! The ski guides were great fun, nothing was too much trouble and all requests were catered for with good humour.

It was a superb week and as most of our fellow guests were already long-standing clients, that in itself is sure recommendation.
