Face to Face v Virtual Meetings
We reviewed the success of virtual committee meetings as a consequence of the pandemic. View is that virtual meetings have worked very well — allowing more flexibility and increased attendance of committee members whilst avoiding unnecessary travel and costs. Plan is to continue with virtual meetings for the new year with one face to face annually (August) plus additional F2F as required.
The AGM (8th October 2021) will be virtual through a ZOOM meeting — keep an eye out for information to follow.
Restart of Chill Factore Sessions
We felt that the time now feels right at Chill Factore group sessions with intention to look at October restart subject to sourcing instructors and Chill Factore agreemen. Actions are under way to establish a plan with information due at the AGM or before.
We have contacted the Chill Factore about tuition arrangements for the next season. We’ll keep you posted.
Club Holidays
Planned holidays for 2021/22 season are full with reserve lists EXCEPT for 6 places on the March 2022 Tignes trip — please contact David Shepherd as soon as possible if you wish to take a place.
Planning for 2022/23 holidays is to start in next few weeks. There are some concerns that the travel companies remain cautious about the impact of any Covid restrictions on the coming season but as always, Tony and David are working to establish options as early as possible.
Programme Update
Preparations for the AGM are in process of being completed with a guest speaker now in place. AGM will be on 8th October via a ZOOM meeting with members able to vote in committee elections including new Chairperson as Rick Mayers steps down after 4 years in post.
Chrismas meal
Preparations are in progress — firm announcement due next month… it will be early December.
Help please: Christine is seeking ideas for next year’s programme of activities — these can involve anything you think other members would enjoy… walks, cultural events, hang gliding, parascending, zorbing, etc… Please contact Christine Fildes with any ideas. All ideas gratefully received.
