Fly On The Wall, Committee Meeting January 2021
Reporter: Ruth Bacci
The committee discussed the Val D'Isere ATOL claim, which is currently in progress.
For the cancelled Sauze d’Oulx holiday — which was to be run in January, the club is awaiting confirmation of the refund from TUI. The committee discussed future risk and booking ski club holidays and the importance of continuing to book holidays that are protected with ATOL/ABTA.
For 2022 holidays, the committee reviewed the current situation. 26 places confirmed for Cervinia (Jan) and decided that now is the right time to investigate options for March (as the industry is now picking up and holidays are starting to be booked — the process of people transferring their deposits from privately booked holidays is starting to fill places in hotels).
The social calendar was discussed and after the great success of the last virtual quiz night, it was decided to plan another, the date is set for Saturday 6th March.
SCoM survey will be closed after one last Newsflash — call to action for anyone that has not filled it in.
Finally, it was reported that new business cards have been printed and were distributed on membership renewal. The future of business cards was discussed with a perspective of looking at new ways for the club to advertise for new members.
