Rick’s Tribute to John

Like most club members who joined SCoM in recent years, especially to ski at the Chill Factor^e, John was the first member of the Ski Club of Manchester they met, offering a smile and a warm welcome to the club.

The outstanding memory of John was his rare gift for making you feel immediately at ease as if you had been friends for years and his amazing ability to chat. Some weeks it felt as though our skis would become frozen to the top of the slope due to the amount of time spent talking, rather than the real aim of the evening to ski!

John’s personality, sense of humour, social organisation and welcoming manner has been sorely missed and can never be replaced;

Very rarely have I met someone who people only have great things to say about them and it’s so sad that he is no longer with us.
