With the holiday season over it was a time to reflect on the season just ended and to look forward to summer events and policy on such matters as whether the club should go paperless.
Feedback about the Kitzbuhel and Tignes holidays was extremely favourable, although as ever there were a few small issues arising, such as the absence of afternoon tea and cakes, and the rather haphazard travel arrangements, particularly on the return journeys to the airports for both holidays. Fortunately, lovely weather at Chambery turned what could have been mayhem in a small and crowded terminal on a wet and windy day to a leisurely sunbathe on SCoM roundabout.
The Committee is keen to get feedback on this season’s holidays, and on other matters, and elsewhere in this report is a link to a survey, which we do encourage club members to complete, whether or not they have been on a club trip. We are keen to get your views about what we do as a club.
With holidays for 2019-20 now all but fully booked we shall in a few months’ time be thinking about the season after. We already have some suggestions for alternative destinations, but welcome your ideas.
We can appoint new Committee members mid-term, subject to confirmation at the AGM. With numbers down to ten, out of a possible 14, we welcomed Ian Mates to his first meeting as a new Committee member, and unanimously approved Tom Russell as the 12th member.
