Fly On The Wall, Committee Meeting October 2017

Reporter: Caroline Brown

A new piece of legislation regarding the holding of data, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will replace the existing Data Protection Act, comes into effect next year so the Club is preparing for this by undertaking a data audit to ensure that any information we hold on members is relevant and secure.

With the ski season fast approaching the coached Chill Factore sessions have re-started and are proving very popular once again with 38 turning up for October’s Thursday morning session. A gentle reminder from the organisers therefore to please register your intention to attend well ahead of time and state which of the groups (Parallel Development, Short Turns or Carving) you would like to join. A simple reply to the person named in the relevant Newsflash will suffice!

Holiday planning is under way for the 2018/19 season with decisions to be made at the committee meeting on November 27th. If you have a favourite resort that you think would be suitable and would like us to consider, let someone on the committee know asap. (All committee contact details are on the website).

We are still keen to hear if there are any off-snow activities that members would like to propose for the rest of the year. The programme currently includes various walks and socials such as the End of Season and Summer Garden Parties but if you have other suggestions (e.g. paintballing, archery, canoeing, canal boat trip, etc.) please tell us.
