8 committee members gathered for the April meeting at the David Lloyd centre and a quick one it turned out to be.
As John Weatherell is currently away on a much deserved cruise, David Atkinson, with help from Brian Allcock, is deputising for him for the next Chill Factore session scheduled for Wednesday evening on 26th April. Looking ahead to next season and coaching sessions have already been provisionally booked in readiness so watch future Newsletters for details.
The summer programme was discussed and is nearly finalised. It was disappointing to learn of the low turnout for Frances’ Ilkley spring hike, and we wish Anne Wright well after sustaining an ankle injury that prevented her from doing her programmed hike.
Members will have noticed that the club’s late February trip has been relocated from Davos Switzerland to Fieberbrunn in Austria, part of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski circus area. As Swiss air would have imposed exorbitant charges relating to any names changes and rebooking of seats, the committee unanimously agreed to switch destinations. This has been achieved at no cost to the club. Please see the new advertisement for holiday details.
Chairman Rick mentioned that the Manchester Cross Country Ski Club will be holding their annual Telemark Festival at the Chill Factor starting on 20th May, so if any of want to learn more about telemarking this is a good opportunity.
