On a surprisingly warm summer evening in the middle of May, it was a pleasant change to be reminiscing over the now but ended ski season, with a glass of wine in hand, good company, in lovely surroundings in the Lewis’s back garden.
The end of season party was well attended with a good mix of new members and regular attendees of the club events. This was clearly indicated by the amount of food on offer as a result of the successful ‘Pot Luck Supper’ kindly organized by Jane Fairclough.
Many thanks to everyone who brought something along, especially the deserts, which were particularly delicious.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end and as I left the party it truly marked the end of the 2013/2014 season. I can safely say I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, listening to plenty of stories from the seasons skiing exploits, whether it was on club holidays or the lucky ones who enjoyed a full season in the Alps.
All that is left to say now is thank you to the hosts Barry and Jonquil Lewis for volunteering there lovely home, enjoy the summer and look forwards to next winters skiing holidays.
